Thienna Huynh: From Georgia to Golf Excellence with UNLV Rebels

Originally from Lilburn, Georgia, Huynh begins her second spring with the Rebels in 2024. During the fall portion of the 2023-24 season, she recorded three top-25 finishes, with below-par scores in each of those. This included a season-best 12th-place finish (-3) at the Hurricane Invitational and a season-low 4-under at the Jim West Challenge.

In her debut collegiate season, she was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year and earned MW All-Conference Second Team honors. The accolades followed a season in which she led all freshmen in the conference in scoring average, at 73.80, while adding three top-20 and seven top-25 finishes.

A 2022-23 AJGA/Rolex Junior All-America honoree, Huynh has also found success in USGA amateur events. Among her highlights, she became the first Rebel to advance to the U.S. Amateur quarterfinals at Bel-Air Country Club this past summer and won the 2022 USGA Four-Ball Championship with her partner, Sara Im.

UNLV Coach:"We have chosen Thienna for this sponsor exemption because she is a great representation of our program. Being from Georgia, she has come to Las Vegas and fully embraced being a Rebel. With professional aspirations, this opportunity is instrumental for her growth as a player."
