SUU's Rising Star: Anais Guibal Granted Exemption for 2024 EPSON Tour

Anais Guibal, a junior from Montpellier, France, is a key member of the Southern Utah University (SUU) women's golf team. She joined the SUU program in the 2021-22 season, bringing with her an impressive and diverse junior golf career from Europe. Guibal started playing golf at the age of five and quickly made her mark in French national championships, reaching the quarterfinals of France's national tournament in 2018. During her high school years at Lycée Privé Polyvalent Nevers, she won four tournaments, including the prestigious ‘Grand Prix de Nimes Campagne’ in 2017.

Guibal also has extensive experience in international competition, representing France in several European team events. Notably, she competed for Team France in the 2019 ‘Friendship Trophy’ tournament in Spain, helping her team triumph over England and Spain.

At SUU, where she majors in Business Management and Administration, Guibal has shown consistent improvement as a college player. Since her arrival in Cedar City, her stroke average has steadily decreased. Highlighting her progress, she shot a career-low 68 in the opening round of the 2023 ‘Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational’. This achievement marks a significant improvement from her freshman year, with her stroke average dropping by four strokes.

Looking ahead, Guibal is preparing for her first American professional event, the 2024 EPSON Tour. With a long-term goal of becoming a professional golfer, this event represents a significant step in her burgeoning career.
